Rev. Dr. Alison Gise Johnson
Reverend Dr. Alison Gise Johnson, Associate Professor of Historical and Theological Studies serves as Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at the Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia. Her research and ministry are centered on creating critical constructive curricula for social justice/advocacy work through empowered youth; facilitating the growth of pastoral teams; creating womanist-informed resources; and developing livable sustainable communities through social enterprise. In service to the community, Dr. Gise Johnson currently serves on the Board of Directors of Healthy Heart Plus, II, Community in Development and Soul-Ice Foundation. Dr. Gise Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering Environmental Engineering Specialization from Northwestern University, a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Procter School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Religion (with emphasis in Christian Social Ethics and American Religious History) from Temple University. Alison is constantly blessed by her husband Dr. Ross Johnson, their three children, and the church family of 5th Baptist Church.
